3 Doors Down Headlining BayFest 2009

BayFest officials announced today that 3 Doors Down will headline the 2009 Festival. Hailing from Escawtawpa, Mississippi, 3 Doors Down has sold over 16 million albums. After experiencing initial success with the song "Kryptonite," 3DD went on to record numerous other hits, such as "Here Without You," "When I’m Gone," and "Let Me Go." The band performed at BayFest in 1999 and 2001 and will return this year to rock the Pepsi Stage on Saturday, October 3.

Local favorites Top of the Orange will also perform on the Pepsi Stage on Saturd ay. The band released their debut album Wait and See in 2007, selling out all 1,000 copies in less than two weeks. The album took a nontraditional recording approach that included a two month long nonstop recording session in which the band worked with Matt Roberts of 3 Doors Down.

Weekend passes will go on sale at www.bayfest.com on Wednesday, July 1. Those who purchase tickets July 1-September 1 will be automatically entered to win a meet & greet with an artist of their choice (some rules apply.) Three-day passes are just $35.

The 15th Annual BayFest Music Festival will be held October 2-4, 2009 in the streets of Downtown Mobile. BayFest is the host of more than 125 national, regional and local artists who play on nine stages over a three-day weekend. Confirmed acts for the 2009 festival include the Steve Miller Band, T-Pain, Akon, Alan Jackson, Billy Currington, James Otto, and Gary Allan. More acts will be announced soon.
